Such a beautiful piece. I really like (and agree wholeheartedly) with the Rembrandt comparisons provided in the article. There is something about the realism of the work that captures the scene so perfectly. Even though in Canada right now it is early morning, gray and cloudy looking deeply into this piece transports the viewer to the scene immediately.

That is so nice that you gave this painting to the family. I agree with you that it is better to have it end up with the family then at an estate sale. I really like this painting. It almost makes you feel like you are standing at this same corner.
